THE two students of Cebu Technological University-Cebu City Medical Center-College of Nursing (CTU-CCMC-CN) who landed in the top 10 during the Nurse licensure examination given last November received plaques and cash incentives from their alma mater on Thursday, December 22.
CTU President Rosein A. Ancheta, handed over the Presidential citation awards to eighth placer Phoebe Joy M. Dingcong and 10th placer Carmela Y. Bihag.
The awardees also received P80,000 each from CTU.
Another Presidential citation Award was granted to CTU-CCMC-CN Dean Audrey Garganera, wife of Cebu City Councilor Joel Garganera, for consistently putting the Nursing school in the top 2 spot among the schools in the entire that have the most number of topnotchers during her tenure in the past 17 years.
In 2005, CTU Nursing had 15 board exam topnotchers, one in 2015 and two this year.
Garganera thanked the CTU officials headed by Ancheta and the entire workforce of the university for the said accolade.
“Thank you Cebu Technological University headed by CTU President Rosein A. Ancheta Jr. for this University Presidential citation as the Dean of the College of Nursing and congratulations to our two NLE top achievers Ms. Phoebe Joy Dingcong and Ms. Carmela Bihag who received P80, 000 monetary incentives during this UNIVERSITY PRAISE – TAP 2022. To my fellow CTU-CCMC-CN faculty, staff and Class 2022, this is all for you. Truly God is amazing” Garganera said in her Facebook post.
Mayor Michael Rama earlier promised to give the two Nursing board exam topnotchers an all-expense paid trip to South Korea with pocket money during a flag ceremony at the Plaza Sugbo grounds last December 5.
Councilor Garganera said Rama’s offer does not include yet the incentives that will be given by the Cebu City Government. (PAC, TPT)
