Sandra Pucciarelli | Microbiologia e biotecnologie | Research Excellence Award

University of Camerino | Italy

Dr. Sandra Pucciarelli is an accomplished biologist specializing in ecology and molecular biology, with a strong focus on extremophiles and bioinformatics. She earned her Master’s degree in Biology with top honors from the University of Camerino and later completed a doctorate in Biology at the same institution. Her early career included international research experiences such as participation in an ERASMUS program at Blaise Pascal University in France and an Antarctic field अभियान at Palmer Station, contributing to her expertise in extreme environments. She further advanced her research through postdoctoral training at the CNRS Laboratoire d’Enzymologie et Biochimie Structurales in France. With an h-index of 15, she has contributed significantly to scientific literature and serves on the editorial boards of journals including Scientific Reports and Marine Drugs. She is also the principal investigator of the H2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions RISE-METABLE 645693 project, which focuses on advanced bioinformatics approaches to improve industrial bioprocesses using extremophiles, and holds a leadership role as President of the IrIdES spin-off company.
