Dr. Atena Aghaee is an Assistant Professor of Nuclear Medicine at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences (MUMS), Iran. Specialty Board of National Nuclear (MUMS, Sep. 2012 – Sep. 2016): She completed a focused specialty board program, and her thesis examined a randomized clinical trial comparing the efficacy of low versus high doses of radioiodine in treating intermediate-risk differentiated thyroid cancer.

Doctorate of Medicine (MD) (MUMS, Sep. 2005 – Sep. 2012): Dr. Aghaee’s medical thesis evaluated the relationship between urinary cystatin C and lipocalin 2 with glomerular and tubule-interstitial injury in renal pathology in nephrotic syndrome patients.

Master of Medical Education (MUMS, Sep. 2021 – Sep. 2023): In this more recent educational pursuit, Dr. Aghaee deepened her knowledge in medical education.

Dr. Atena Aghaee is an accomplished professional in the field of Nuclear Medicine, currently holding several key roles at esteemed institutions in Iran. She is the Chief Manager at the Iranian Society of Nuclear Medicine in Tehran, a position she has held since March 2023. Dr. Aghaee is also a Responsible Professor at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in the Department of Nuclear Medicine, where she has been actively involved since September 2021. Furthermore, she served as the Academic Deputy for the Nuclear Medicine Department at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences from December 2020 to December 2022.Her leadership extends to the Ghaem Hospital in Mashhad, where she has been the Head of the Nuclear Medicine Ward since July 2019, under the supervision of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences. In addition, Dr. Aghaee is an Assistant Professor and Member of the Nuclear Medicine Research Center at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, a position she has held since April 2019.
