Italian National Health Institute | Italy

Dr. Federica Fratini is a researcher specializing in proteomics and molecular biology, with a strong focus on diagnostic biomarker discovery and cellular communication mechanisms in disease. She holds advanced academic training in chemistry and cellular and molecular biology, complemented by expertise in scientific communication. Her research career includes international experience and collaborations with leading biomedical institutes, where she has contributed to studies on host–pathogen interactions, cancer biology, and membrane dynamics. Her work primarily involves advanced proteomic techniques, including sample preparation and mass spectrometry, as well as the investigation of extracellular vesicles and their role in cell-to-cell communication during disease progression. She has also developed and applied analytical methods such as nanoparticle tracking analysis to better understand vesicle biology. In addition to her research contributions, she actively participates in the scientific community as a reviewer for multiple peer-reviewed international journals in the fields of molecular biology, infectious diseases, and cell biology.

Dr. André O. Hudson is a scientist originally from Jamaica who later pursued his education in the United States. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Virginia Union University in 2000, where his early research experience focused on identifying pathogenic bacteria in fresh produce. He went on to complete his Ph.D. in Plant Biology and Pathology at Rutgers University in 2006 under the mentorship of Dr. Thomas Leustek. Following postdoctoral training at Rutgers, he joined the faculty of the Thomas H. Gosnell School of Life Sciences in 2008, where he contributes to research and education in the life sciences.
