Prof. Tchekalarova also holds a Master’s degree from the Institute of Biophysics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, earned in 1989-1990. Her foundational education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology from the University of Sofia “St. Kliment Ohridski,” completed between 1985 and 1989.

Professional Experience:

Prof. Jana Tchekalarova has held several prominent positions throughout her career. Since 2022, she has been serving as a Member of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. In 2020, she assumed the role of Scientific Secretary at the Institute of Neurobiology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. She has been the Head of the Department of Behavioral Neurobiology at the same institute since 2018. Additionally, she has held the position of Vice Director of the Institute of Neurobiology since 2021.
