Dr. Imed Ghiloufi is a distinguished Professor of Physics specializing in plasma physics, nanomaterials synthesis, and environmental applications. He earned his Habilitation to Direct Research (HDR) and his Ph.D. in Plasma Physics, both from Paul Sabatier University, Toulouse, France, where his research focused on plasma-based waste treatment and nanoparticle synthesis. With a B.S. in Physics from the University of Sfax, Tunisia, Dr. Ghiloufi has built a prolific academic and research career across Tunisia, France, and Saudi Arabia. He served as Professor and previously Associate Professor at Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud University, Saudi Arabia, where he contributed significantly to teaching, curriculum development, and laboratory establishment, before joining the Center of Research and Technology of Energy, Technopole Borj Cedria, Tunisia. His research spans plasma processing for waste valorization, nanoparticle production, solar cell development, and wastewater treatment, with several projects funded by national and international agencies. Dr. Ghiloufi has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and is an active member of scientific societies including the American Materials Research Society (MRS), the Saudi Physical Society, and the Saudi AMOP Physics Group. A recognized peer reviewer for leading journals such as Journal of Hazardous Materials and Environmental Chemical Engineering, he also serves on editorial boards and scientific committees. His work bridges plasma technology and environmental sustainability, advancing innovative materials and processes for energy and ecological applications.
