Noushina Iqbal | Agricultural and Biological Sciences | Research Excellence Award

Dr. Noushina Iqbal is an accomplished plant physiologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany at Jamia Hamdard. She earned her Ph.D. in Botany from Aligarh Muslim University and has since held prestigious fellowships, including the DS Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship and SERB-NPDF. Her research focuses on plant stress physiology, particularly the role of phytohormones, nutrients, and plant–microbe interactions in enhancing tolerance to salt, drought, and heat stress. She has received multiple honors, including the Best Paper Award in Antioxidants and Young Scientist Awards from ESDA and NESA. In addition to her research, Dr. Iqbal is deeply committed to teaching, having guided numerous M.Sc. dissertations and taught courses in plant physiology, bioinformatics, genomics, and environmental biotechnology. She also serves as a reviewer and guest editor for international journals, further contributing to the advancement of plant science.

He has led and contributed to numerous research and development initiatives, working collaboratively with government agencies, international organizations, research institutions, and industry stakeholders. His work integrates scientific research with training, extension, and project development to enhance agricultural sustainability and productivity.
