Dr. Sachan has made significant contributions to these fields through his research and teaching. Dr. Sachan’s career includes notable positions such as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at C3i Hub and a Senior Project Engineer at IIT Kanpur, where he worked on identifying security threats in the blockchain ecosystem. Before his Ph.D., he held various academic positions, including Assistant Professor and Lecturer at multiple institutions. He has been recognized with several awards and scholarships, including the PhD Supervisor Award under the Deanās Research and Excellence Award at Bennett University for 2023-2024, the MHRD Scholarship for his doctoral studies, and The Best Student of The Year Award at IISTEM, Kanpur. Education:
Dr. Rohit Sachan completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science & Engineering in January 2021 from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad (MNNIT), Allahabad, India. His thesis, titled “Anti-Predatory Nature-Inspired Algorithms and Their Applications,” was supervised by Prof. Dharmender Singh Kushwaha (dsk@mnnit.ac.in). He qualified for the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) in November 2017. In June 2012, Dr. Sachan earned his Master of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering from Amity School of Engineering and Technology (ASET), Amity University, Noida, India. His thesis, “Security Requirement Engineering: Methodologies of Elicitation and Prioritization,” was supervised by Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Rana (ajay_rana@amity.edu). He also qualified for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) held on February 13, 2011. Dr. Sachan obtained his Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering in June 2008 from Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Greater Noida, India. His project, “Video Streaming System (VSS),” was mentored by Prof. Sanjeev Pippal (sanpippalin@gmail.com). In addition to his engineering degrees, Dr. Sachan holds a Diploma in Saddlery Technology & Export Management from the International Institute of Saddlery Technology & Export Management, Kanpur, India, which he completed in June 2005. He completed his intermediate education in Math in June 2001 and his high school education in Science in June 1999 from Saraswati Bal Mandir Inter College, Rath, Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, India.
Work Experience:
Dr. Rohit Sachan has accumulated a total of 9 years, 6 months, and 23 days of work experience. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the School of Computer Science & Engineering, Bennett University, Greater Noida, India, a position he has held since July 18, 2022. Prior to this, he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at C3i Hub (iHub NTIHAC Foundation) starting from July 15, 2022. He also served as a Senior Project Engineer in the Computer Science & Engineering department at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Kanpur, India, beginning August 1, 2021. His research focused on identifying security threats in the blockchain ecosystem under the guidance of Prof. Sandeep Kumar Shukla (sandeeps@cse.iitk.ac.in), a role he started on September 16, 2020. Before pursuing his Ph.D., Dr. Sachan began his academic career as a Lecturer in the Computer Science & Engineering department at Priyadarshini College of Computer Science (PCCS), Greater Noida, India, from August 8, 2008. He then joined Accurate Institute of Management & Technology (AIMT), Greater Noida, India, as a Lecturer on September 22, 2009. On February 18, 2011, he transitioned to I.T.S Engineering College, Greater Noida, India, as a Teaching Associate in the Computer Science & Engineering department. Subsequently, he returned to AIMT as an Assistant Professor on August 7, 2012, a position he held until July 25, 2014. In addition to his primary roles, Dr. Sachan has also contributed as a Visiting Faculty. He was associated with the Department of CSE at Central University Rajasthan, Ajmer, India, conducting online classes from December 2021 to January 2022. Additionally, he taught in the Department of Data Science & Analytics at the same university from July 2021 to August 2021.
