Prof. Dr.  Georgia Pozoukidou is a leading expert in spatial planning, land use planning, urban modelling, and resilient urban development, with a distinguished academic career dedicated to shaping sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready cities. She holds a Ph.D. in City and Regional Planning and a Master’s degree in City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania, where her research focused on integrated land-use models, urban development, and land market dynamics. She also earned an Engineering Degree in Planning and Regional Development from the University of Thessaly. As a Professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, she actively contributes to advancing the field of spatial planning through innovative teaching, extensive research, and the development of cutting-edge urban policy approaches. Her scholarly work spans critical themes such as 15-minute cities, participatory planning, urban revitalization, and spatial resilience, emphasizing data-driven urban modelling for sustainable land-use strategies. Professor Pozoukidou has received international recognition for her contributions, including the 2021 MDPI Sustainability Best Paper Award for her influential publication on the 15-Minute City model, which has shaped contemporary debates on human-centered urbanism. She has also been honored with several prestigious awards, such as the Women Transportation Seminar Carmen E. Turner Graduate Scholarship Award and the Pennsylvania Planning Association’s Outstanding Planning Student Scholarship Award. Additionally, she earned second prize in the competition for the Strategic Spatial Development Study for the Lake Trichonida Region, reflecting her applied expertise in regional development. Her work continuously integrates theoretical innovation with practical planning solutions, promoting equitable access, urban livability, and resilient infrastructures. Through her research leadership and academic service, Professor Pozoukidou plays a vital role in advancing planning education and inspiring new generations of professionals committed to sustainable urban futures.
