Prof. Shaukath Ara Khanum is a seasoned academic with extensive experience in teaching, research, and administration. She has been involved in UG teaching for 35 years and PG teaching for 20 years, accumulating 31 years of research expertise. Her administrative roles include serving as the Coordinator for the M.Sc. Chemistry course (2011-2013), Head of the Department (2016-2018), and as an E-Attestation Officer for Post-matric scholarships for SC, ST, and minority class students at the Centre for E-Governance, Government of Karnataka (2019-2023).

Research Interests:

Organic Chemistry: Eco-friendly synthesis of heterocyclic compounds and bioactive compound isolation from medicinal plants.

Pharmaceutical Chemistry: Research on anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial activities, and enzyme inhibition.

X-ray Crystallography: Structural and theoretical explorations.
