Postgraduate Courses: Dr. Siri has undertaken several postgraduate courses to enhance her expertise. In the academic year 2006/2007, she completed a Postgraduate Course in European Teaching Licence for Information Technology and Communication (EPICT) at the Department of Education Sciences, University of Genoa, where she was a scholarship recipient. In the academic year 2010/2011, she obtained a second-level Master’s degree in Telematic-Education Applied to Health Sciences and ICT in Medicine (MATAM), also as a scholarship winner. This degree was awarded on January 17, 2012. From January 17, 2012, to September 25, 2012, Dr. Siri participated in a Postgraduate Course in Design, Management, and Evaluation of European Projects, where she was again a scholarship winner, provided by the Higher Education Network, Bic Liguria ScpA. In the academic year 2016/2017, she completed a first-level university master’s degree in Innovation in Public Administration (MIPA) at the Department of Political Science, University of Genoa, continuing her tradition of academic excellence as a scholarship recipient.

🗣️Teaching Experience:

In the academic year 2023/24 and ongoing, Dr. Anna Siri serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Pegaso, Naples, Italy, where she teaches Sociology of Education (9 CFU) for the Bachelor’s program in Lettere, Sapere Umanistico e Formazione. In the same academic year, she also teaches Sociology (6 CFU) for the Bachelor’s program in Scienze dell’Educazione e della Formazione at the University of Pegaso, Naples, Italy. Since the academic year 2022/23, Dr. Siri has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Genoa, Italy, teaching Anthropology of Tourism (6 CFU) for the Bachelor of Science in Tourism: Business, Culture, and Territory, with approximately 10 students per year. Additionally, since the academic year 2021/22, she has been teaching Anthropology within the CI Theory and Technique of Motor Activities, History of Sport, and Anthropology (2 CFU) for the BSc in Motor Sciences, Sport, and Health at the University of Genoa, Italy, with approximately 170 students per year.

Teaching Tenure in PhD Programmes:

In the academic year 2013/14, Dr. Siri was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Genoa, Italy, where she held a contract within the Doctorate Course in Evaluation of Educational Processes and Systems (SPS/07) for supplementary teaching as per Article 23, paragraph 2, Law 240/2010 (DISFOR Director Decree no. 24 of 24/2/2014). From the academic year 2018/19 to 2020/21, Dr. Siri was the holder of the module ‘How to write a research project in social-humanistic areas to be submitted to an international competitive call’ at the Doctor of Social Sciences Course, Department of Education, University of Genoa.

Research:

From December 1, 2013, to November 30, 2016, Dr. Anna Siri was involved in the Centre for the Third Age Education Project (544517-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-IT-TEMPUS-JPHES), which was selected as a ‘success story’ by a panel of experts from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport, and Culture. The project’s objectives were to develop, accumulate, and maintain human capital by promoting lifelong learning and social inclusion of older people in the informal and secondary education system in Azerbaijan, Russia, and Ukraine. The project also aimed to carry out an awareness-raising campaign on issues related to the education and well-being of older people in these countries. The team included Antonio Guerci, Diana Spulber, Guido F. Amoretti, Giselle Janeiro, Sayavush Gassimov (Baku Eurasian University), Anna Kukharenko (Volyn Institute of Economics and Management), Tatiana Tereshkina (Saint Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design), and Erik Selecky (Technical University in Zvolen). Dr. Siri’s role was as a member of the Quality Evaluation Board, which is currently in place to ensure the sustainability of the Centres created through the funding obtained. From 2016 to 2018, Dr. Siri contributed to the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence (565513-EPP-1-2015-1-EN-EPPJMO-CoE) under the project “Rights and Science,” funded by the European Union, EACEA. The scientific coordinator was the Department of Experimental Medicine, University of Perugia, Italy. The Centre of Excellence ‘Rights and Science’ brought together lawyers, economists, and social scientists who dealt with the legal, ethical, economic, and social aspects of scientific research, innovation, and technology in Europe and other continents. Key topics of interest included biodiversity and environmental protection, researcher responsibility, bio-law, privacy and protection of fundamental rights in research and technology, and intellectual property and technology transfer. The team consisted of Roberto Cippitani (Chair Holder), Valentina Colcelli (CNR), Christoph Brochhausen (University of Regensburg), Joanna Oslejewicz (General Directorate for Environmental Protection, Poland), C. F. Molina (Universidad Alcald de Henares), Anna Siri (UNIGE), and experts from various international universities. Dr. Siri’s role involved being an international, interdisciplinary, and cross-sectoral research team member, participating in activities/tasks such as ethical implications of open access, ethics and citizen science, and dissemination activities. From March 1, 2016, to February 28, 2019, Dr. Siri participated in the YOUNG_ADULLLT project – Policies Supporting Young Adults in their Life Course: A Comparative Perspective of Lifelong Learning and Inclusion in Education and Work in Europe. The project’s objectives were to analyze the compatibility of different lifelong learning (LLL) policies in terms of their focus and objectives, particularly how each policy addresses the needs of young adults. Additionally, the project aimed to analyze the intended and unintended effects of these policies on young adults, examining relevant societal developments such as processes of de-standardization across the life course and a new political economy of capabilities. The project also sought to gain new insights into regional and local decision-making, focusing on actors, dynamics, and trends. The partnership included the University of Münster (Germany – coordinator), University of Education Freiburg (Germany), Goethe University Frankfurt (Germany), Plovdiv University (Bulgaria), South-West University Blagoevgrad (Bulgaria), University of Zagreb (Croatia), University of Glasgow (UK), University of Lisbon (Portugal), University of Porto (Portugal), Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain), University of Genoa (Italy), University of Vienna (Austria), University of Granada (Spain), University of Turku (Finland), and European Research Services GmbH (Germany). Dr. Siri’s role was as a member of the UNIGE research team, contributing a sociological perspective on the suffering and distress of young NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training).

Awards:

In June 2018, Dr. Anna Siri was honored by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, as part of the National Coordination of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018. She was awarded the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 Label for her significant contributions to the “Worlds and Ways of Caring” Project at the Antonio Scarpa Ethnomedicine Museum, University of Genoa. In March 2021, Dr. Siri received a prestigious accolade from the European Commission, being awarded the Seal of Excellence for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship. Her project, titled GENIE – Gender imbalance in STEM education in Italy and Slovenia: trends and predictors using microdata from international large-scale assessments, was recognized for its innovative approach and impactful research. The project proposal was identified as number 101032894. Most recently, in December 2022, Dr. Siri was recognized by the Ministry of University and Research under the NATIONAL REPRESENCE AND RESILIENCE PLAN (NRP). Her project was awarded under Mission 4 “Education and Research”, Component 2 “From research to enterprise”, Investment 1.2 – Funding of projects submitted by young researchers, as per Notice no. 247 of 19/08/2022. Her LOUPE project (SOE_0000195) was acknowledged for its forward-thinking contributions to research and its potential to drive innovation.
