Dr. Chilou Zhou is an accomplished academic with expertise in chemical process equipment and mechanical engineering. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Process Equipment from Zhejiang University in 2015, following a Bachelor’s degree in Process Equipment and Control Engineering from Sichuan University in 2010. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering at South China University of Technology since May 2018, Dr. Zhou previously held a position as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the same institution from April 2016 to April 2018. His doctoral thesis focused on the optimal economical sizing and control of a PV-battery grid-connected system for fast charging stations of electric vehicles. Prior to his Ph.D., Dr. Omran obtained an M.Sc. in electrical engineering from Cairo University in August 2017, with a thesis titled “Smart Photovoltaic Traffic System.” He also holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Electronic and Control from Menoufia University, which he completed in 2011. Since March 2024, he has been working as a researcher at the Electronics Research Institute in New Nozha, Cairo, Egypt. Prior to this, from August 2017 to February 2024, he served as an Assistant Researcher at the same institute. From July 2012 to August 2017, Dr. Omran worked as a Research Assistant at the Electronics Research Institute. Before joining the institute, he worked as an Electrical Maintenance and Control Engineer at Ever Grow for Specialized Fertilizer in Giza, Egypt, from January to July 2012.
