He currently serves as the Vice-Dean for International Affairs at the School of Rehabilitation, Tehran University of Medical Sciences (2023 – Present) and as the Head of the Optometry Department (2021 – Present) at the same institution. In these capacities, he has been instrumental in fostering international collaborations and advancing the department’s academic and research initiatives.
Dr. Khorrami-Nejad has also played a pivotal role in the Iranian optometry community as the Scientific Secretary of the Iranian Society of Optometry (2014 – Present). His contributions include organizing and overseeing 16 international and national congresses, seminars, and webinars, facilitating knowledge exchange and professional development in the field.
As an Assistant Professor at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (2015 – 2016, 2020 – Present), he has been deeply involved in optometry education. He has also lectured at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (2014 – 2021) and Iran University of Medical Sciences (2014 – 2016), collectively teaching over 200 credits to BSc, MSc, and PhD optometry students.
His clinical expertise is reflected in his tenure as an Optometrist at Farabi Eye Hospital, Tehran University of Medical Sciences (2010 – 2021), where he specialized in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. Over the years, he has examined approximately 100,000 infant and children patients, significantly contributing to early detection and treatment of visual impairments in young patients.
