His thesis, titled ‘Bioactive compounds from medicinal plants and their semi-synthetic derivatives,’ focused on the extraction, fractionation, isolation, and characterization of bioactive compounds from medicinal orchids of Arunachal Pradesh and high-altitude plants from Ladakh, India. Nandan employed bioassay-guided fractionation and evaluation to study the compounds’ antimycobacterial, leishmanicidal, bacterial, and cytotoxicity activities.
