Assist. Prof. Dr. Joana Costa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto. She holds a PhD in Public Policy with a focus on Innovation Policy from the University of Aveiro, an MPhil in Economics from the Faculty of Economics, University of Porto, a postgraduate qualification in Industrial Management from ISEP – School of Engineering, and a degree in Economics from the University of Minho. She completed a postdoctoral project on innovation persistence and national innovation contexts, with particular emphasis on open innovation. She teaches econometrics, applied econometrics, economics of innovation, entrepreneurship and innovation, and investment appraisal at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. She is a senior researcher at INESC TEC in the CITE research group, where her research focuses on economics of innovation, entrepreneurship dynamics, regional development, social responsibility, and public policy.

Prof. Sihyun Kim is an academic specialist in international logistics and maritime transportation at the National Korea Maritime and Ocean University, where he serves in the Department of Logistics within the College of Engineering. He earned his PhD in International Logistics from Plymouth University, with research focused on competitiveness and sustainability practices in container shipping logistics in Northeast Asia, and holds an MSc in Maritime Transportation from the University of Newcastle, where his work examined strategic and efficiency-related aspects of container ports in South Korea. His scholarly interests center on container shipping, port efficiency, sustainable logistics, and the strategic development of maritime transport systems.
